How the Matching System
Works in Gameram
The guide describes the functionality of the Match feature, available by tapping the corresponding icon in the bottom menu of the Gameram app. The Matching system helps users find friends and teammates within the network based on shared interests, games, and age, allowing for quick profile browsing and following directly from a single window.
1. How Matching Works
-
You can access the Match section by tapping the button in the bottom menu of the app. Upon entering, the system will immediately show you the profile card of another user.
-
You can swipe through the user's card to decide if this contact is a good fit for you. Tap Follow to subscribe or Skip to pass.
-
After that, the system will show you a new profile card. At any time, you can exit the Matching section by selecting another icon in the bottom menu.
-
If you want to find new friends through Matching, make sure to fill out your profile as completely as possible and post frequently. This way, other users will see more posts and gaming statuses on your profile card.
2. User profile
Your profile card looks exactly like the cards of other users.
-
Below your avatar, you’ll see your goal. For more on how goals work, refer to Section 4: Goals and Filters.
-
Underneath, there’s a block of personal information pulled from your profile. The About Me section is one of the first things that can catch someone’s attention, especially if you’re new to Gameram and haven’t shared many great posts yet.
-
Make sure your age is specified in the app so your card can appear in Matching. You don’t have to display your age publicly, but doing so increases your chances of gaining more followers.
-
You can edit your avatar, personal info, and 'About Me' section by going to Profile → Settings → Edit Profile.
3. Activity & Posts
-
The Activity in the Last 30 days block shows your activity over the past month. Playing Days are calculated based on the gaming statuses and posts you’ve shared.
-
We try to showcase posts about games from your search filters. If the suggested user has fewer than five relevant posts, we’ll fill in the remaining space with their most popular posts that received significant feedback.
4. Goals & filters
-
Tap the Settings button in the top-right corner of the Matching screen to set up your goals and search filters.
-
When you set a goal in the filters, you’re simultaneously specifying your search criteria for other users and defining your current goal. You can change your goal at any time.
-
For the Teammates goal, you can only select one game. For the Friends goal, you can select as many games as you like. If you don’t select specific games for the Friends goal, the system will search for users with the same games you’ve added to your 'My Games' list.
-
Occasionally, we may automatically broaden your search filters to ensure you’re not left without interesting new accounts to explore. However, we only suggest users who share games with you and are in the same age group (either adult or minor).
-
Additionally, we apply implicit filters based on your region (countries with similar social and cultural characteristics located nearby) and your language to ensure smooth communication and compatibility.
-
Users who haven’t specified their age won’t appear in search results. Similarly, inactivity for a few days may exclude your account from being suggested in Matching.
We hope this guide helps you find more new friends and gaming buddies!
